Sharon Alback Dance Centre (SADC) has been a cornerstone of the Redcliffe community since 1952. Founded by Sharon Alback, the centre has a proud history of offering high-quality dance tuition to students of all ages, from toddlers to adults. More Than Just Dance
At SADC, dance is more than movement. It develops coordination, balance, focus, and discipline – life skills that extend far beyond the studio. Proper dance training requires strength, alignment, and control. Students learn complex step combinations, stretching, and muscle strengthening while cultivating confidence, grace, and poise.
Discipline and technique are emphasised from the very beginning. Students enjoy the art form, explore music, and build confidence while following a structured learning path. SADC provides a nurturing environment where students can express themselves safely and creatively.
The Studio

Located in the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre, the purpose-built studio features:
- Dance-safe sprung flooring with professional Tarkett
- Large, well-ventilated studios with high ceilings suitable for aerial work
- Professional acrobatic equipment including tumbling mats, air track, and crash mats
- First-aid and emergency facilities
- High-quality sound systems and video equipment
This professional environment allows students to focus on learning safely while enjoying the full experience of dance training.
Meet the Team
SADC’s team is highly qualified and experienced, offering students expert guidance across all dance genres. The leadership team includes:
- Sharon Alback – Founder, Comdance International Examiner, Life Member of Comdance, and convener for the Qld Born to Perform Festival. Sharon has mentored countless students who have gone on to professional careers in dance.
- Diahann Maude – MD, Comdance International Examiner, adjudicator, Diahann oversees all classes and administration
- Kerry Smale – CSTD International Examiner with extensive experience teaching syllabus and exam classes.
In addition to these senior instructors, the team includes talented teachers in Acrobatics, Hip Hop, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Modern Jazz, Classical Ballet and Ready Set Dance, all qualified and passionate about helping students reach their potential. Most of the teachers have been a part if the studio since their childhood and have progressed through their exams to qualify in their chosen genres.

Dance Classes for Every Level

SADC offers a wide range of classes suitable for every interest and ability:
Ready Set Dance
Designed for preschoolers, this award-winning program is one the leaders in Early childhood learning through dance. There are classes offered throughout the week and on weekends to align with all types of family commitments.
Tiny Toes Ballet

Tiny Toes Ballet introduces our little dancers to the fundamentals of Classical Ballet in a Fun, creative lesson promoting coordination, body awareness, strength and flexibility.
With the inclusion of props such as rainbow ribbons, feathers and bubbles, children have a blast twirling, swaying and popping bubbles.
These props add the fun and also support tactile awareness, fine motor coordination and control.
Tiny Tumblers Class
Tiny Tumblers is our acrobatic program used in conjunction with developed with Industry Leader Acrobatic Arts, specifically designed for preschoolers. It emphasises safe and effective progressions to foster the physical and social skills needed for healthy early childhood development.
Designed with a structured class approach that promotes a dynamic and engaging preschool acrobatics class that not only promotes holistic developmental milestones but teaches a range of exciting AcroDance Skills.
Classical Ballet

Starting from age 5, ballet classes build foundational technique, discipline, balance, posture, and strength. SADC teaches the Comdance Classical syllabus alongside general technique classes, including adult ballet programs. Classical Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles and is fundamental to strong, well trained dancers.
Acrobatics
Acrobatic classes enhance strength, flexibility, and resilience. Students develop confidence while mastering balancing, limbering, tumbling, and partnering skills. SADC offers Acrobatics for students, supported by qualified Acrobatic Arts instructors.
Contemporary
Contemporary dance encourages creativity, self-expression, and versatility. Students learn floor transitions, use of gravity, and improvisation while developing physical and mental fitness. Classes begin at age 10, with some elements incorporated in younger students’ classes.
Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre classes blend acting, singing, and dance. Students build confidence and performance skills while enjoying syllabus-based lessons, with exam options available for accredited training.
Jazz

Jazz classes focus on modern dance techniques and performance skills. SADC teaches both the Comdance Jazz syllabus and contemporary jazz styles, starting from age 7, with younger students enjoying jazz in combo classes.
Tap
Tap dance develops rhythm, coordination, core strength, and mental agility. Classes run from Ready Set Dance to adult levels, with exam pathways available through Comdance Tap syllabus.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop classes provide a fun outlet for creativity and self-expression. Comdance Hip Hop exams are incorporated for those seeking a structured challenge.
Adult Classes

Jazz, Tap, Ballet, and Contemporary classes are available to both beginners and those wanting to return to dance. Our adult classes have the option to perform in our annual concerts and local competitions or just for the enjoyment and fitness…
Our young students love having their parents sharing in their dance memories by performing alongside them in our concerts…We have same families that have Mum, Dad and the children all on stage enjoying the gift of dance!!

Performances and Community Engagement
SADC students have regular opportunities to perform giving them a platform to showcase skills while contributing to the local community.
Enrolments for 2026
SADC is now taking enrolments for 2026. The Annual family registration fee for 2026 is discounted to $48 until 6th December.
Classes are available for students aged 2 through to adults. Early enrolment in Term 1 comes with special discounts, and fun January workshops offer students a chance to explore new styles and meet new friends.
Summer School will be from Jan 20-24th.
