The Where We Belong Festival is returning to Redcliffe this month, bringing a mix of local and national punk and rock acts.
The 12-hour event, held at Settlement Cove, was created by Tribe Social Belonging – a Redcliffe-based social enterprise and charity, in an attempt to bring people together through live music.
Ryan Elson, from Tribe Social Belonging, said the charity exists to reduce social isolation and create inclusive spaces where everyone feels they belong.
“All proceeds go directly back into our charity programs,” Ryan said. “We’ve been operating since 2018, delivering community programs, events and support services focused on connection and belonging.”
Ryan said those attending the festival could expect a full day of live music alongside food vendors, as well as licensed bars, a beer garden, market stalls and merchandise stands.
“It’s designed to feel like a proper community festival rather than a commercial event,” he said.
Music, Community and Festival Experience
“It’s open to everyone. Families are strongly encouraged, kids under 12 are free, and tickets are kept at $50 to remain accessible. We’re expecting around 2000 to 2500 attendees.
“The event is also alcohol-managed, family-friendly and focused on inclusion. It’s about bringing together a diverse crowd in a safe, positive environment.”
The festival will feature 20 popular local and national acts, such as The Screaming Jets, who will be headlining, as well as Pricey, Large Mirage, Whitts End, The Phosphenes, Takeover, Heatstroke, Profanity Fair, Tailor Made Rejects, Tomohung and Burnout.
“We’re keen to punk up the bay and inject some well-needed vigour and life,” Tye from Profanity Fair said about their upcoming performance.
Jarvis of Whitt’s End said they were “so excited” to be in this year’s lineup.
“There’s so many awesome bands from the Brisbane music scene playing, many of whom we’re close friends with, so it’s going to be heaps of fun,” Jarvis said.
“Expect an insane day of music and an electrifying set of originals for you fellow Whitt’s Enders coming to see us!”
Tickets for the Where We Belong Festival are available on Humanitix. On-site parking will be available, with traffic management in place on the day.
