Paint Your Own Pottery
Paint Your Own Pottery (PYOP) is the heart of the experience at The Craft Haven. It’s simple, therapeutic and suitable for beginners.
You can walk in or book ahead. Each guest pays a $10 studio fee, which covers glaze and kiln firing. From there, you’re free to explore the huge selection of ceramics — everything from tiny trinkets to large statement pieces. Prices start at $6 and reach up to $100, making it easy to find something that fits your style and budget.
Once you choose your piece, settle in with a brush and let your imagination take over. Many visitors describe the process as surprisingly calming, and the results are always one-of-a-kind. After painting, the studio team takes your piece through the kiln. Within 10-14 days, your pottery returns transformed and ready to take home as a keepsake or gift.
PYOP Memberships
For regular painters or creative families, The Craft Haven offers an annual PYOP Membership. For $75 a year, members can visit as often as they like without paying studio fees — they simply pay for the pottery they choose. It’s an affordable way to enjoy a year of creativity.
The Clay Hub – Coming January 2026
The studio is expanding its creative offerings with the launch of The Clay Hub in January 2026. This new space will introduce handbuilding and wheel-throwing courses, along with a series of specialty workshops for all skill levels.
While the full schedule is still being finalised, several kids’ handbuilding workshops will be available soon, including Fairy Gardens on 7 January, Pinch Pot Monsters on 15 January, Elphaba’s Hat from Wicked on 23 January, and The Sorting Hat from Harry Potter on the same day. These workshops give children the opportunity to shape, sculpt and create with clay in a fun, supportive environment.
Theme Nights and Special Events
The Craft Haven has become known for its lively themed paint nights and trivia events. These evenings are a blend of creativity and entertainment, offering a playful social outing for adults and teens.
Upcoming themes range from Friendsgiving and Swiftmas to Kath & Kim, Shrek, Stranger Things and Romantasy-inspired paint parties. Some workshops also focus on clay skills, such as butter dish or Christmas ornament hand building sessions. These events change regularly and tend to book out quickly, making them a favourite among local groups and friendship circles.
Workshops for Kids
School holidays are always busy at The Craft Haven. Children can enjoy full-day craft programs, Halloween or spring-themed sessions, creative pottery projects such as Squishmallow plates, or guided clay workshops. These sessions are hands-on and engaging, and many parents return year after year because their kids love the experience so much.
The studio also hosts kids’ birthday parties for ages six and up. Parties include plenty of painting time and lots of space for food, decorations and celebrating with friends.
