Redcliffe Fish and Chips Rundown

Moreton Bay peeps are typically known to be foodies (they even have an entire yearly festival based around food and wine). Naturally, you’re best to do so after perusing this indispensable guide first! Without further ado, let’s check out some top fish and chip shops on the Redcliffe Peninsula.

1. Yabbey Road Redcliffe

With a playful twist on iconic Britishness (obviously inspired by The Beatles), Yabbey Road is a clear favourite amongst Redcliffe’s very well-represented fish and chip-loving community. The shop is located on the scenic waterfront as part of the main commercial strip. It offers traditional English-style fish and chips (you might say that they are they are the purveyors of ‘ye olde fish’n’chips Redcliffe’). This is as well as plenty of options, such as an extensive list of burgers.

Yabbey Road is rated four out of five by the Australian Food Guide and many Google reviewers commenting on the crispy battered fish, the pleasant atmosphere, the dog-friendly aspect and one of the biggest plus points for many – the gluten free alternatives.

Take this review from Lindy-Lou on Facebook, for example: “Yabbey Road [is my choice] because it caters for gluten free [diets]. I was there one day and the young girl came running out to make sure I didn’t use the malt vinegar. She then went and got a container of gf [gluten free] vinegar.”

  • Address: 133 Redcliffe Parade, Redcliffe QLD.

2. Seafood Town Woody Point

Seafood Town in Woody Point is a fantastic spot for fish and chips. Not only that (as you might have guessed) it also offers all manner of seafood-based meals and snacks (if you’re looking for more fresh seafood places you might want to check out Morgans Fish and Chips Redcliffe). From the oysters to the calamari, to the ice cream, to the good selection of wines, there’s a lot on offer as the perfect companion to fish and chips as your main meal.

You can choose to eat at the well-serviced restaurant or take away your delicious food to the nearby park or jetty nearby (or, naturally, just go home to eat in the comfort of your own surrounds). Topping it off with some crisp Sauvignon Blanc might just tickle your fancy. The ice cream sundaes are a moreish desert and are sure to hit the spot for all the family (it’s good to know that there’s also a dedicated kid’s menu).

Google Local Guide Gilda says this about Seafood Town “We always go there for a fresh and well-cooked meal. Take away or dine in, [it] is our favourite. The location is awesome, the restaurant is clean and nicely organised. [There is] good and fast service, with a good selection of wines. The business was always good but transformed over the past 10 years from a cozy fish ‘n chips shop to a big and modern restaurant with the price following the price hike trend. But [it’s] worth every penny.”

  • Address: 4/14 Oxley Avenue, Woody Point, QLD.

With a rating of 4.4 out of 5 on Google, Marvelous Fish and Chips in Scarborough is certainly not to be sniffed at. In fact, you’ll probably inhale their potato scallops alone. Especially if you take Sue White’s word for it: “I just love their potato scallops! They hand-make them AND you can have ones with bacon inside them! [The shop has] friendly staff and [it’s on the] waterfront,” she says on Facebook.

Marvelous Fish and Chips describe themselves as “A Marvel themed fish, chips and burger takeaway located across from beautiful Scarborough Beach. So, there you have it: superheros and super seafood! What more could you want? Well, for one, a lovely atmosphere right near the water. Plus, good ratings on Trip Advisor for food quality, service standards and value.
