Pine Rivers Park

Pine Rivers Park is a popular spot because it has two barbecue facilities and several covered picnic sets next to play facilities and drinking water. With plenty of parking and shaded seating, it’s a great spot to cook up some sausages and enjoy the weather.

The Mill Water Park (and Play Space)

This free space is an incredible spot, whether you’re looking for a barbecue hotspot or planning to hold a party. The areas were custom-designed to incorporate an aquatic play area for kids to explore, offering a climbing tower, flying fox, splash zones, splash pads, and interactive fountains. Dogs are allowed on a lead, but not in the water play or playgrounds.

Rotary Park

Rotary Park boasts a quaint playground with brand-new equipment ideal for smaller children and shady picnic areas. With gas barbecues and nearby amenities, it’s an excellent spot if you’re looking for a quiet adventure.

Charlish Park

Located on the edge of Suttons Beach, Charlish Park has sprawling greens to picnic on, red-roofed picnic hubs, and barbecues. The playground is divided into two clear sections – one for the smaller children and the other for children aged 10+, but if that doesn’t sell you – wait until you see the views!

Sylvia Gibbs Park

With a dog exercise area and a recently upgraded children’s play park, this barbecue hot spot is perfect for a full-family day out. There are clean toilets nearby, tables to set up your meal and snacks, a ping pong table, plus gardens and a path for a bit of after-barbecue exercise.

Wyllie Park

Located near Mill Water Park, Wyllie Park has plenty of seating, shelter, barbecues, play equipment for the kids, fitness equipment for the adults, and toilets. It’s a great spot to do a bit of barbecuing, classed as one of the few remaining historic roadside rest stops in the area.

Leis Park

With a dog exercise area, play equipment, fitness equipment, and barbecues, Leis Park has something for every member of the family! It’s located on the banks of the North Pine River, making it the ideal launching pad if you’re a kayak or paddleboard enthusiast. Work up an appetite on the river and satiate your hunger using modern barbecue facilities.

Flinders Parade Park

Flinders Parade Park features gas barbecues, fitness equipment, shelter, seating, and tables. It’s a small area, but it’s all you need when located so close to the sports club and golf course. The park is an excellent central meeting point for families looking to meet up after a busy morning of activities.

Lake Samsonvale

If you’re looking for a picturesque barbecue spot, look no further than Lake Samsonvale. It features walking trails all along the edge of the water, fishing spots (with a permit), picnicking spots, barbecues, and plenty of water sports options. Whether you prefer rowing, kayaking or sailing, Lake Samsonvale is the ideal day out.

If you have kids, the McGavin View area is ideal as in addition to great views of the lake, it features a playground. Bullocky Rest is also ideal for kids.

Sweeney Reserve

This heritage-listed park offers river access, play, and exercise. The sheltered barbecue facilities provide seating and are located close to public toilets, which makes it a perfect spot if you have small children. You’ll find the playground and barbecue area in the central area of the park.

While the reserve is dog friendly, it’s important to observe the signage to see where they are (western end) and aren’t allowed off-lead as there are koalas in the area.

Hills District All-Abilities Playground

The beauty of this hot spot is the playground is designed for all abilities, with adaptive swings, sensory sand, musical instruments, an accessible carousel, and a learning braille clock. Soft rubber matting provides protection against trips and spills and provisions for service dogs; there’s a lot to love about this playground and barbecue area.

There are also electric barbecues available to use, so once the kids have their fill at the playground, you can cook up a feast to enjoy at a sheltered picnic table. In addition to the inclusive play area, the toilet facilities are also accessible, with automated touch buttons and spacious cubicles.
