If you are a book lover and are looking for book clubs in Moreton Bay region, then grab a coffee and start reading. We have compiled all the best book clubs for you to consider in this wonderful region, just north of Brisbane.

Book clubs are a great way to connect with other people who share your love of reading. You can meet new people, engage in interesting conversations, and build friendships all based around your interest in books. They can also be a great way to discover new books and authors that you may never have heard of. Book clubs can meet weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on the club and format.

Top Tip – If you are considering starting up your own book club in Moreton Bay, drop into any of the Moreton Bay Regional Libraries. The libraries have a great range of free resources to help you set up your own group, as well as lending out book club sets, meaning there are up to 10 copies of the same title.

Next Chapter Book Clubs

The Moreton Bay regional council libraries do a fabulous job of hosting regular book club events. The Next Chapter Book Clubs are led by the wonderful library staff with a focus on giving people with developmental disabilities opportunities to learn and build their communication skills. These groups are free to join and no registration is required.

Next Chapter Book Club – Albany Creek

The Next Chapter Book Club Albany Creek meets 3.30pm-4.30pm on the first and third Wednesday of the month at the Albany Creek Library, 16 Ferguson Street, Albany Creek QLD.

Next Chapter Book Club – Redcliffe

The Next Chapter Book Club Redcliffe is a weekly book club that meets every Wednesday morning from 11.30am-12.30pm at the Redcliffe Library, 476 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe.

Next Chapter Book Club – North Lakes

The Next Chapter Book Club North Lakes has 2 groups. The first group meets the second Wednesday of the month and the other group meets the fourth Wednesday of the month. Both groups meet 11.30am-12.30pm and are free to join. They meet at the North Lakes Library, 10 The Corso, North Lakes.

Next Chapter Book Club – Caboolture

The Next Chapter Book Club Caboolture is a monthly book club that meets the first Monday of every month from 11.00am-12.00pm at the Caboolture Library, 4 Hasking Street, Caboolture.

Book Discussion Group – Bribie Island

What better way to pass the time than to gather with others to discuss your favourite books and authors! This is a free event for adults and a great opportunity to find new and exciting books based on what others are reading. The Bribie Island Library, located at 1 Welsby Parade, Bongaree, hosts the Book Discussion Group on the second Friday of every month from 2.00pm-3.00pm. The library overlooks the water, making it a lovely destination to meet and chat.

Book Discussion Group – Woodford

If you are living or staying in the Woodford area, make sure you drop into their Book Discussion Group held at the Woodford Library. The Woodford Library can be found at 1 Elizabeth Street, Woodford with the Book Discussion Group meeting on the fourth Thursday of every month at 1.30pm. There is no cost to come along and new members are always welcome.

Deception Bay Book Club

The Deception Bay Book Club is filled with locals who love to read. The group meets regularly at the Deception Bay Tavern to discuss their chosen book for the month. A great way to meet people, especially if you are new to the area, while enjoying some great food at the Tavern. Join their Facebook group to find out meeting times and learn more.

Blokes Book Club – Redcliffe

The Blokes Book Club in Redcliffe is a great way to gather with other men in the area, discuss books and build a community. This group is hosted in the Redcliffe Library making it accessible for all. The group meets on the fourth Thursday of every month at the Redcliffe Library, 476 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe, from 5.00pm-6.00pm. Come along for a great chat and a laugh.

The Moreton Bay Ladies Book Club

The Moreton Bay Ladies Book Club is a group of like-minded ladies who share a love of books! They choose a book at the beginning of the month and meet at the end of the same month to discuss it. This is a great way to dive deeper into the books you are reading, meet new people and create some lasting connections. Join their Facebook group to find out more.

Kallangur Book Club

Calling all book lovers! Come along to the Kallangur Book Club and read a new book each month. The group meets on the third Friday of each month from 9.30am-12.00pm at the Encircle Kallangur neighbourhood centre, 51 Marsden Road, Kallangur. Lit Club 4 Kids

Lit Club 4 Kids is an online book club run by Dymocks Bookstores for kids aged 8-13 years. There are four new books to read each year, along with activities and the opportunity to have an exclusive Q&A session with the author! The book club is a wonderful way to get kids excited about reading and is perfect for children who can’t come to an in person event. Join for free online.
