Thousands of runners are expected to descend on Redcliffe Peninsula’s foreshore this July when the United Airlines Jetty 2 Jetty Marathon returns, celebrating its 40th anniversary.
The race, which is organised by Tourism and Events Moreton Bay and held along the City of Moreton Bay coastline, has become one of Queensland’s longest-running community running events.
Tourism and Events Moreton Bay CEO Luke Edwards said the event had grown into “something truly special over the past 40 years”.
“It’s not just about running, it’s about community, participation, and showcasing the incredible beauty of the Moreton Bay city,” he said.
Celebrating Four Decades of Community Running

The program this year includes the United Airlines Marathon, Moreton Buy 10km, the Wheelchair 10km, the Kangaroo Bus Lines 5km and the Redcliffe Pool 3km. However, the Brokr. Half Marathon has already sold out.
“With the half-marathon already sold out, it’s clear there is strong excitement building for this milestone year,” Luke said.
Queensland Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell said the race continued to deliver benefits for the region.
“This event attracts thousands of people to the Redcliffe Peninsula and delivers real benefits for local businesses,” he said.
“From cafes and retailers to hotels and tour operators, while supporting local jobs and driving economic growth.”
Due to the ruby anniversary, this year’s event will also feature a limited-edition 40th anniversary merchandise range.
