Queensland’s longest and most scenic fun run is returning to the foreshore this month.
The Jetty2Jetty Fun Run is marking its 39th year, with each year offering something new for its participants.
CEO of Visit Moreton Bay, Luke Edwards, said this year’s fun run had some exciting new additions.
“The headline news is the introduction of the very first Jetty2Jetty marathon, with the added incentive of winning United Airlines flight credits to America,” Luke said.
“There are limited spots available, so we’re encouraging anyone who wants to be part of race history to visit the website and register.
“Next year, for Jetty2Jetty’s 40th anniversary, we’ll be expanding the marathon entry.”
But the developments don’t stop there, with additional collaborations following suit.
“Another exciting update is our collaboration with local Indigenous artist Lauren Rogers, who has designed this year’s race singlets and merchandise,” Luke said.
“Her artwork, Guided by Country – Earth, Water and Sky, celebrates both the spirit of the community and our deep connection to the lands of the Kabi Kabi people.”
Race Categories, Community Spirit and Registration Details
There are six different race categories this year, including the United Airlines Marathon, the Kindred Half Marathon, Belles and Brides 10km, Endeavour Foundation Wheelchair 10km, Planet Fitness 5km, and Ausbuild 3km.
Every race category is designed for all ages and fitness levels and all courses begin at Pelican Park.
“Jetty2Jetty has grown from a local community fun run into a nationally recognised event that attracts thousands of participants from across Australia – and increasingly, the world,” Luke said.
“Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome – walk, jog, run, push a pram or even dress up. Whether you’re chasing a PB or just soaking in the experience, it’s a great day out in the Moreton Bay region.
“We’re excited to welcome runners from near and far to this year’s Jetty2Jetty, along with the family and friends who’ll be cheering them on from the sidelines.
“If you meet someone visiting Moreton Bay that weekend, be sure to give them the warm welcome our region is known for.”
