Podcast Review: The Kill List

Imagine if ordering a hitman was as easy as ordering a pizza.

Unfortunately, it is – thanks to ‘the Dark Net’, a seedy little corner of the internet, where things too crook for public consumption dwell.

Journalist Carl Miller was contacted by a friend who had hacked an online notice board where people recruit killers. Together they formed a list of the soon-to-be victims and aimed to warn them of the very real danger they were in. But where to start? Calling up a stranger and saying someone wants you terminated, kidnapped or tortured, doesn’t usually go down too well.

A Race Against Time

The police weren’t any help, and he couldn’t visit these people scattered all over the globe because of Covid lockdowns, and the list was only getting bigger. What could he do?

Carl is not some hard-hitting whistleblowing journo, he’s a tech researcher. So, he formed a team of like-minded investigative writers around the world who could visit the victims face to face and warn them before it was too late.

The scariest thing about this story is the people hiring the killers. Will they eventually take matters into their own hands? This truly is a must-listen podcast.
