The storytelling aspect of The Joe Cocker Express: Mad Dog Vs The Englishman is a key element that sets it apart from just being a tribute concert — it’s a journey through the life, music and legacy of Joe Cocker.

The Redcliffe Entertainment Centre will host this immersive show that takes the audience through two defining eras of Cocker’s career.

According to Rebecca Muino, Director, Good Company Entertainment, it all begins with the seasoned timbre of Cocker’s later songs before diving into the unadulterated energy of his earlier hits, including the iconic track With a Little Help From My Friends.

“Whether it’s about his legendary Woodstock performance or the making of his biggest hits, these stories help the audience connect on a deeper level,” Ms Muino said.

Ms Muino said that between sets, the lead singer, Chev Wilson, weaves in stories about Cocker’s real-life experiences.

Regarding the frontman’s history, Ms Muino said that Mr Wilson was raised in a musical family and began performing in front of crowds at an early age.

“Every song is sung with the same intensity and passion that made Cocker an icon,” she said.

Mr Wilson said he was very blessed to have a similar vibe and character to Cocker, so adopting his persona happens seamlessly.

“I literally just go out there as myself and try to celebrate Joe’s life and amazing musical ability,” he said.

Hall of Fame Buzz and a Chance to #SingForJoe

The show is timely with Joe Cocker’s recent nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, sparking a wave of positive reactions from fans, fellow musicians and industry professionals and instigating a call out for his fans to vote at vote.rockhall.com

The show organisers, Good Company Entertainment, have also launched a competition where Australian singers can showcase their talent by singing their favourite Cocker song, filming it and posting it with the hashtag #singforjoe2025.
