Have you tried pickleball yet? With a major Pickleball Tournament coming to Redcliffe this month, it’s a great time to either play or watch and learn more.
The tournament will be held between Friday, 24 April and Monday, 27 April, at Focus Tennis & Pickleball.
Pickleball is an increasingly popular sport that combines elements from badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Being low impact with simple rules makes it suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Tournament Coordinator of Pickleball Queensland, Rykie Louw, said the Queensland Pickleball Tournaments (QPT) provided competitive play opportunities for players registered with the Pickleball Association of Australia.

“There are ten tournaments, held in various locations across the state each year,” Rykie said. “Redcliffe is hosting the second QPT Tournament of 2026.
“We encourage players of all experience levels to join us on the tour to test their skills against other players, to make new friends, to laugh and have a good time on and off the court.”
Chris Novic of Focus Tennis & Pickleball said the weekend event was expected to attract around 400 players and many spectators.
“While spectators are often family members and friends of the athletes, these events are a fantastic way for anyone to see what pickleball is all about while enjoying great food, drinks, and high-quality play,” Chris said.
