Exciting changes are coming to Redcliffe’s beachfront, with building work on the new Suttons Beach Pavilion expected to begin later this year.
The City of Moreton Bay council announced that tenders are currently being evaluated, and the construction contract will be awarded in the coming months.
Once underway, the build is expected to take approximately 14 months (weather permitting and unforeseen circumstances). The site will feature three hospitality venues, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a rooftop space, and a viewing deck.
“The revitalised site will not only bring new life to this popular seaside precinct but will also have flow-on effects for employment, economic development and tourism in our city,” City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said.
Accessibility and Community Enhancements
Accessibility is a key focus, with the design including a lift and stairs, pedestrian access from Marine Parade, upgraded public amenities such as accessible toilets, showers, a Changing Places facility and bookable beach wheelchairs.
The project is part of a broader upgrade, with improvements to the northern end of the car park, new park furniture, additional shade trees, and relocation of the popular rotunda.
“This will be a space that our community can really be proud of and enjoy for generations to come,” City of Moreton Bay Division 6 Councillor Karl Winchester said.
