In just a few short months, The Tipsy Tomato has gone from newcomer on the block to neighbourhood favourite, winning locals over with its laid-back coastal charm and Mediterranean-inspired menu.

Opening in May on Prince Edward Parade, The Tipsy Tomato has quickly become a hotspot for handcrafted woodfired pizzas, pasta dishes and a cocktail menu with a twist.

Redcliffe local and owner, Grant Preece, said Redcliffe was the perfect place to bring The Tipsy Tomato to life.

“This location has been iconic for Peninsula locals for many years, so it sort of chose us,” Grant said.

“We wanted to create a venue that felt welcoming, social, and a little bit cheeky, much like its name. Redcliffe has such a vibrant, close-knit community and a beautiful coastal lifestyle, so it was the perfect place to bring our vision of a fun, casual dining destination to life.”

Pizzas and Mains on Mediterranean-inspired Menu

The menu celebrates seasonal ingredients, with gluten-free and vegetarian options available, while the playful cocktail list has already become a local favourite.

“Our menu celebrates fresh, seasonal ingredients with a Mediterranean-inspired twist,” Grant said. “From signature pizzas with our own in-house classic bases, to hearty mains, we’ve designed it so there’s something for everyone.

“Our cocktail list is playful and inventive, featuring twists on classics as well as fresh, seasonal creations. From the bold and spicy Tipsy Bloody Mary, to our signature Sheepdog Affogato, there’s something to suit every mood.”

Beyond the menu, The Tipsy Tomato is becoming a hub for socialising. Sunday Sessions with live DJs have already struck a chord with locals, and regular live music is set to launch soon. The venue is also taking bookings for group events and celebrations, making it a new go-to for special occasions.

Grant said that since opening, the feedback from the community has been overwhelming, with visitors saying they love the atmosphere.

“We’ve built The Tipsy Tomato around more than just food and drink, it’s about creating a space where people connect, unwind, and celebrate,” he said.

“Guests love the relaxed vibe, friendly service, and the fact that they can pop in for a casual drink or settle in for a full dining experience.”
