Easter is an exciting time for the community to get together and celebrate, and what better way to do this than to hop on down to one of the Easter markets on the Redcliffe Peninsula?

Moreton Bay Region Events is collaborating with Newport Market to bring yet another Easter Twilight Market to the peninsula on 19 April.

Business owners and couple, Danielle Glashoff from A Touch of Sunshine and Robert Kingston from Dynamic Spark Designs are sharing a stall at the Newport Markets with their two small businesses.

Robert said this isn’t their first market and while they don’t attend markets often, it won’t be their last.

“Newport Market was one of the first events we attended as we were just starting out a couple of years ago,” Robert said.

“The team are super supportive and the overall vibe of the market is fantastic. Being locals, we often see familiar faces at the market, which is always a bonus.”

Egg-citing Easter Fun for the Whole Family

The Newport Markets will have free Easter egg hunts, meet and greets with the Easter bunny, free entertainment and activities, and a variety of food trucks and market stalls for the whole family to enjoy.

Danielle and Robert’s stalls are just two of many more creative stallholders on display.

Danielle from A Touch of Sunshine creates handmade resin jewellery and bows, with a range of affordable Easter-themed earrings and bows available on the day.

On the other hand, Robert from Dynamic Spark Designs is a graphic designer.

“(I have) a knack for putting smiles on kid’s faces, with posters of their sporting and musical heroes, intricate handmade cake toppers, custom-designed drinkware and plenty more,” Robert said.

“Local events like Newport Market provide stallholders with great opportunities to showcase their work to new audiences and give shoppers a great way to support local makers.”

Redcliffe Markets is hosting a similar event across two days – Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The event is taking place on the Redcliffe Parade, with a variety of handmade artisans, gourmet street food and scavenger hunts.
