Witches, ghouls, and creatures of the night, October is upon us, and Halloween is ready to cast its spell over Redcliffe.
On Saturday, 25 October, the iconic Redcliffe Jetty will transform into a spooky playground for Redcliffe Markets’ annual Festival of Frights, where tricks, treats, and eerie delights await those daring enough to wander the foreshore after dark.
From dusk, the markets promise a hauntingly good time with plenty to sink your fangs into. Feast on delicious street eats from the region’s best food stalls, shop ‘til you drop at more than 200 market stalls, and enjoy a lineup of live entertainment sure to raise your spirits.
Market coordinator Mark Power said there was something for everyone.
“The foreshore will come alive with wickedly awesome activities, including the spookiest scavenger hunt and a best dressed competition for those who come in their scari-best costumes!” Mark said. “So whether you’re a ghost, ghoul, or pirate, show off your frightful fashion for a chance to take home the treasure.”
But the scares don’t stop there. As the night creeps in, roaming performers, haunted pirates, and towering stilt-walkers will stalk the crowd, ensuring no soul is safe from a fright or two. And just when you think the night couldn’t get any more ghoulishly grand, the skies will erupt with a dazzling fireworks display.
More Frightful Fun
If a night of jump scares isn’t your style, the Redcliffe Tavern is serving up Halloween thrills of its own. From spine-tingling tunes to devilishly tasty treats, the tavern will be buzzing with live music from 6pm. Guests can get into the spirit with prizes for the best dressed and Halloween gift packs that are sure to be a treat.
For those eager to unleash their creative side this Halloween, Pinot & Picasso is turning down the lights and turning up the fright with Neon Halloween Horrors. Guests will paint their very own bewitching masterpiece, blending creativity with the spooky spirit of the season. Guided by expert artists, you’ll craft a ghostly creation brought to life with a glowing neon twist, perfect for a night that’s equal parts eerie and enchanting.
