Australian author Toni Jordan will visit Redcliffe Library this month for a special book signing and meet-and-greet with local readers.
“Everyone is welcome,” Toni said. “It’s a joy to talk about writing and reading and books with people.”
Known for bestsellers such as Addition and The Fragments, the acclaimed author said the inspiration for her latest novel, Tenderfoot, came from her childhood growing up in Brisbane in a family of greyhound trainers.
And while she hasn’t set a story in Redcliffe – yet – she said the area held a special place in her heart.
“One of my first jobs was at Redcliffe,” she said. “I have fond memories of driving across the bridge every day, and of buckets of prawns and beers by the water on Friday nights.”
Meet the Author Event Details
She added that events like the book signing at Redcliffe Library were one of the best parts of her job.
“Most of the time I sit at home making up people and typing, so the times I actually get to meet readers are an essential part of keeping me happy and giving my life some balance,” she said.
“Hearing what people think of my books is a wonderful experience. It’s a privilege to have readers take time out of their busy lives to think about my book, and for them to want to know more.”
The event is free, but bookings are required. To book, go to www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/libraries/Events/Meet-Author/Meet-The-Author/Toni-Jordan
