Pay homage to one of Australia’s biggest rock outfits, INXS, by coming along to Redcliffe Leagues Club to watch tribute band IN2XS live and local.
Without the cost of entry, you can enjoy a band that has played with Noiseworks, Screaming Jets and Boom Crash Opera in the atmospheric Legends Lounge at the home of the Redcliffe Dolphins this coming June.
According to Grant Daniel, lead vocals, IN2XS, the band members have aimed to recreate the unique essence of their musical idols by working tirelessly in the rehearsal room and by playing hard on stage – so that the audience can ultimately benefit.
“Each of the guys has a real dedication to achieving the sounds and playing styles of the original members, and then when we get to put it all together with a few hundred other INXS fans, the magic just happens by itself,” Grant said.
A real sense of fascination was also behind the creation of the show, with inspirations born of nostalgia and die-hard fandom.
“As a 1986 model myself, I grew up listening to the Kick album on cassette in the back of Mum and Dad’s car, so songs like Devil Inside and New Sensation were some of my earliest rock music memories,” Grant said.
Free Entry and Pure Nostalgia at Redcliffe Leagues Club
According to Jeff Walsh, guitarist for IN2XS, his motivation was to recreate the atmosphere of a “pub rock gig from the 80s.”
“Back then, every venue had a band every night of the week, which is why so much great music came out of Australia at that time,” Jeff said.
For Grant, being the lead singer means “getting to embody one of the greatest singers and frontmen of all time” and paying due respect to the original music.
“Lyrically, the songs have a lot of meaning because they take people back to the moment when they first heard them,” he said.
As for the free entry, Jeff said that most of his band’s gigs were ticketed events, so “to play at a venue that provides free entertainment is fantastic.”
