Dust off your boots and wrangle your friends and family for an action-packed day of bulls, broncos and barrels as the inaugural Moreton Bay Rodeo takes over the Redcliffe Showgrounds.
Bart Hamilton, a director of the National Rodeo Company, said that they were excited to bring Australia’s largest rodeo series to the bay area on Saturday, 2 May.
“The Moreton Bay Rodeo is part of the expanding Stampede Series and is still relatively new to the region,” he said. “While the series itself has been running nationally for several years, this event represents a continued investment in bringing a major, professionally produced rodeo experience to Moreton Bay.”
With high-end production, big screens, lighting, music and a strong focus on the overall entertainment experience, Bart said the Stampede Series was designed to feel more like a major sporting event than a traditional rodeo.
“It’s a high-energy, festival-style atmosphere – part sport, part country music concert, and part social event,” he said. “We also deliberately shape our program to be family-friendly and accessible. Whether this is your first rodeo or your fiftieth, this is an event that still resonates with modern audiences and gives the crowd something they have never seen before.”
A High-Energy Rodeo Experience for All Ages
Bart explained that first-timers will find the events easy to get into, as the action is fast and the high-energy commentary keeps everyone engaged. With live DJs, line dancing, and a range of food vendors, bars, and activity areas throughout the site, there will be something for everyone to enjoy the day.
“The standout is always the bull riding. It’s the headline event and the most high-adrenaline part of the day,” he said. “Beyond that, barrel racing is a crowd favourite, and our freestyle entertainment, including trick riding and rodeo clowns, adds a lot of personality to the show.”
With competitors from across Queensland and interstate, as well as some strong local riders in the mix, organisers say that the rodeo will deliver an exciting combination of hometown competitors going up against some of the best riders in the country.
“Get in early, grab your tickets, and come be part of something that’s a bit different,” Bart said. “It’s not just about sitting and watching – it’s about being a part of it. It’s about bringing country to the city and creating a great day out for everyone.”
