The Redcliffe community is coming together to support people experiencing homelessness – and they’re doing it loud!
On Sunday, 12 July, Rockin’ 4 The Homeless will return to the Dolphins Leagues Club for a fundraising event built on live music and community support. With Tim Rogers appearing for the third year in a row, Darren Middleton added to the line-up, and all funds raised going to The Breakfast Club Redcliffe Inc, this is set to be Rockin’ 4 The Homeless’ biggest event yet.
Founder Dan Nebe said the 2026 edition represents a change in scale and profile.
“Rockin’ 4 The Homeless has always had heart, but this year it has serious force behind it,” Dan said. “To have Tim Rogers involved as Ambassador and Darren Middleton joining the bill takes it into another lane entirely.”
Tim Rogers (frontman of You Am I) said he keeps showing up because he understands the significance of the event.
“This is an opportunity to raise funds and get information out there,” Tim said. “There can be a stigma that the homeless have somehow brought it upon themselves so it’s important to share their stories – to see them and hear them.
“If you avoid ‘seeing’ the homeless, you miss out on an opportunity to be a decent human being.”
Supporting Those in Need Through Music
The Breakfast Club Redcliffe Inc is a grassroots charity providing more than 1000 meals per month to people in need. Rockin’ 4 The Homeless supports the charity through fundraising and public awareness, with organisers saying all proceeds go directly to The Breakfast Club Redcliffe Inc because the event is fully sponsored and volunteer-run.
Entry to the event is free. Local bands Salt & Steel, Bridge 2 Nowhere, Killtoys, Commonside, and Baltimore Gun Club are part of the lineup. There will also be raffles, auctions, and donation points.
Darren Middleton (formerly of Powderfinger) said he encouraged people to come along.
“It’s a great chance to catch some live music, and you’re going to be helping people doing it tough,” Darren said. “It’s a good thing.”
