A series of free community talks exploring meditation and inner peace will be held in Redcliffe this month, led by local teacher Wesley Ford of The Brahma Kumaris.
Wesley, who recently moved to the peninsula, has been practising Raja Yoga Meditation for the past decade. By day, he works as a chemical engineer in the energy industry, but his true passion lies in helping people discover calm and clarity through spirituality.
“In my early 20s, when I began full-time work, I really struggled with managing stress and pressure,” he said. “I was desperate to master my mind and stay balanced no matter what was happening around me.”
That search eventually led Wesley to The Brahma Kumaris, an international non-profit organisation teaching Raja Yoga Meditation – a practice that helps individuals connect with their higher self to cultivate peace, resilience and purpose.
“I met people who had been meditating for over 50 years,” Wesley said. “They had this incredible composure and clarity – and that’s exactly what I wanted to develop in myself.”
Wesley said the practice has transformed how he approaches both work and life.
“Now people often comment on how calm I seem under pressure,” he said. “Raja Yoga gave me the tools to handle life’s ups and downs with strength and grace.
“Spirituality isn’t about escaping the world.
“It’s about mastering your mind so you can live more peacefully within it.”
