From their first open mic night to creating their own music showcase, local youth band, Noise, is making sure they don’t go unheard.
The band’s three members, Theo Dale (16), Sam Dale (12), and Cael Armitage (16), have been playing together for less than two years, but have seen much success in that short time and have no plans of stopping.
“Our first gig was a great starting point, and it gave us the confidence to get us to where we are now,” Theo said. “Our performances feel a lot tighter, the songs are more advanced, and our communication as a band is really good now.”
The trio credit their parents for shaping their early musical influences, introducing them to legends like The Beatles, Guns N’ Roses, and Redcliffe’s own Bee Gees. Now, with 14 original songs, their sound has evolved into a unique blend of genres that continues to grow with them.
“My mum and dad wanted to make sure that I heard a bit of everything,” Cael said. “As we’ve grown and experimented, it’s been a natural progression as we explore new sounds and find our voice as a band.”
From Local Gigs to Big Dreams
Since their first show, Noise has been making their mark across Moreton Bay and North Brisbane, recently earning a spot as one of only eight finalists – and the youngest act – at the Sandgate Youth Festival.
With the support of Tribe Clubhouse, they now have the chance to curate their own youth music showcase, featuring other youth bands they’ve handpicked to play alongside them.
As they gear up for their next show, the boys are looking forward to the buzz that comes along with bringing their own songs to the stage.
“I like the energy of playing in front of a live crowd,” Theo said. “Practising at home is one thing, but when you’re playing in front of a screaming crowd – it’s a whole different feeling.”
With dreams of getting their music onto Spotify and performing at even bigger events, the trio are determined to keep putting in the work and chasing their goals.
“We are hoping to improve drastically,” Sam said. “We hope to play at the 2032 Olympics opening ceremony and hopefully continue on to start touring.”
