In a move aimed at supporting local food service businesses, City of Moreton Bay has launched its Master Your Food Business program.
Delivered in partnership with The Coffee Commune and Crunch (in collaboration with The Hospitality Company), the program seeks to elevate operational excellence, sustainability and profitability for cafés, restaurants and licensed venues in the region.
Mayor Peter Flannery said the Master Your Food Business program was part of the broader $1 million City of Moreton Bay Business Boost initiative, which aims to foster growth in the city’s small business community.
“Supporting our hospitality sector has countless flow-on benefits, from adding to our great livability, to providing even more reasons for visitors to come and the hospitality of Moreton Bay,” Mayor Flannery said. “Our $1 million budget commitment to support the local business community complements Council’s already generous business support initiatives and is a tangible way to help the many small businesses that are doing it tough, while also supporting ongoing employment opportunities across the City.”
Expert-Led Training and Mentorship
The program will be led by Phillip Di Bella, founder of The Coffee Commune, and James O’Connell, founder of The Hospitality Company. Both will provide expert-led training and mentorship, helping local businesses optimise operations, reduce costs and build sustainable models.
“Our proven track record in the coffee industry, combined with our comprehensive training methodology, will provide participating businesses with the tools they need to thrive in today’s competitive market,” Mr O’Connell said.
The Master Your Food Business workshops will commence this month, with participants having access to one-on-one mentoring, expert-led sessions and networking opportunities designed to boost productivity and profitability.
